The mission is deep cleaning cars and helping customers feel good when they're on the road. The vision is raising car detailing standards — professional customer service, excellent cleaning quality, and fair prices.
Vehicles get detailed inside and out to a showroom-clean level using foam-rinse-foam, spiral cleaning, and the “Secret Sauce” that makes the paint pop.
We put the detail in detailing.
Two rounds of foam lift the grit off the paint before a hand touches it, so nothing gets dragged across the clear coat.
Panels are worked in a consistent pattern instead of random circles. It's slower and it's the reason there are no swirls left behind.
Bonded contamination and water spots come off the paint before any wax or sealant goes on — otherwise you're just sealing the dirt in.
The finishing step. It's what makes the paint pop, and it's the part people notice from across the street.
Meet the owner
Darren Heard is a lifelong Chicagoan and the founder of Shine It Up Detailing Specialist. His journey into auto detailing started in 2015 while working as a rideshare driver. He realized that passengers loved getting into a clean, well-maintained car. He also noticed something else—too many car washes mistreated customers, delivered poor cleaning quality, and kept adding surprise charges.
Frustrated with those experiences, Darren started detailing his own car. Soon enough, neighbors and passing motorists were asking him to clean their vehicles too. They enjoyed his foam-rinse-foam wash process, spiral cleaning approach, and the “Secret Sauce” finish that makes paint pop. He realized a market demand combined with a passion for car care could build something special.
Shine It Up Detailing Specialist is focused on three key goals: professional customer service, excellent cleaning quality, and fair prices.
With a background in community engagement, Darren is aware of the Chicagoland area. Cars are essential for people to take care of their families, travel to work, and navigate life. He’s excited to help local drivers upkeep their vehicle’s long-term value & looking showroom clean.
Darren is a two-time Chicago Marathon finisher, completing the races in 2023 and 2024.
